Imaguru Story
Imaguru, launched in November 2013 in Minsk, quickly became one of Eastern Europe’s leading startup hubs—a space where entrepreneurs, investors, and business professionals connected to share knowledge, ideas, and ambitions. Over 7.5 years, Imaguru played a key role in building startup ecosystem, fostering a business angel community, and training countless entrepreneurs and innovators.
Imaguru’s work extends beyond business development, fostering a culture of innovation, responsibility, and collaboration. Through education, mentorship, and community-building over nearly a decade, we’ve inspired entrepreneurs to become agents of change, embodying independence and forward-thinking ideas.
In 2021, during the political crisis, the Belarusian regime shut down Imaguru in Minsk. Despite this, Imaguru continued supporting the Belarusian community online and abroad. However, the regime escalated its repression, designating Imaguru as an "extremist" formation. This led to criminal cases against its founders, property seizures, and a trial in absentia, which sentenced a founder Tania Marinich to 12 years and a cofounder Anastasiya Khamiankova to 11 years of imprisonment, and combined $160,000 in penalties. These politically motivated charges, including conspiracy and alleged extremist activities, highlight the authoritarian regime's ongoing efforts to undermine freedom and innovation.

We Build and Grow Communities
We create solid communities of tech-minded founders with global vision, passionate tech talent and innovators.
Opposition to Belarus’s authoritarian government has seen tens of thousands of entrepreneurs leave the country to continue their work in exile. They are backed by Imaguru, a startup hub that began as an initiative to boost tech innovation but has increasingly found itself involved in politics – even more so since the start of the war in Ukraine. Imaguru’s founder Tania Marinich spoke to FRANCE 24 at the VivaTech conference in Paris, where the group hopes to soon open a new branch.
Globally, the IT community is incredibly cohesive, so such developments are also a testimony to how the IT community in both sides of the conflict is adapting to the war.
We believe progress stems from strong, united communities built on shared knowledge and purpose. Imaguru fosters collaboration not only among entrepreneurs, investors, and leaders but also within civil society, encouraging civic activism and collective action. Through education and mentorship, we empower individuals to drive meaningful change, blending innovation with a commitment to societal betterment.
Our Values
We believe innovation is a transformative force that thrives on openness and self-determination. At its core, entrepreneurship embodies freedom of thought, self-reliance, and creativity—a form of self-expression as fundamental as the rights to speak, create, and realize one’s potential. By providing resources, knowledge, and opportunities, we empower entrepreneurs to create groundbreaking solutions and shape a better future, even in the face of adversity.
Empowerment Through Entrepreneurship & Innovation
Community and Collaboration
The culture of giving back is a defining value of the global startup community. For us it holds an even deeper significance. Our shared experiences have united us around the vision of building a new society, no matter where we are in the world. By fostering mentorship, collaboration, and contributions to the ecosystem, we create a cycle of empowerment that drives collective progress and long-term impact.
Imaguru champions resilience as the cornerstone of entrepreneurial spirit. We empower individuals to stay steadfast, adaptable, and self-reliant, enabling them to thrive in even the most challenging circumstances. Through those values, we strive to foster meaningful impact, nurturing businesses that not only achieve success but also make a positive contribution to society.

Master. Mentor. Advisor. Rest assured, our mentors are trained gurus who will master your coding and entrepreneurship skills. They will inspire you to believe that nothing is impossible.
